Coast Southwest has received a certificate of completion from the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) for successful completion of NACD’s on-site management system verification audit.
NACD’s Responsible Distribution ProcessSM is the association’s quality, responsibility, and stewardship protocol. The Responsible Distribution Process (RDP) verification is a third-party audit required of all NACD regular members and chemical handler affiliates.
The on-site third-party verification was conducted by independent, third-party verifiers via a facility visit and personnel interviews. The audit verifies that Coast Southwest meets the standards of NACD’s Core Codes of Management Practice through the implementation of RDP Guiding Principles.
“The Responsible Distribution Process covers all facets of our business,” says David K. Hoff, Coast Southwest director of operations. “Every department was involved in the certification process. The twelve RDP code sections had department-specific operating procedures that really have helped us become a better company.”
These standards show a commitment for assuring that raw materials purchased and distributed are handled in a safe and compliant manner consistent with the product stewardship expectations of suppliers, customers, and employees.
The NACD has been publically reporting membership performance within these measures of health and safety since the early nineties. Since 2006, the annual completion and submission of the membership performance questionnaire has been mandatory for all NACD members. The organization reports that participation has been 100 percent for the last three years.
