The City of Arlington Water Utilities has recognized Coast Southwest and forty other companies with 2014 Pretreatment Environmental Awards for fulfilling all industrial pretreatment compliance requirements.
“Thank you for everything you do for Arlington; we are so pleased to have you all here today and would like to see you all return next year, “said Walter “Buzz” Pishkur, Director of Water Utilities for the City of Arlington. “Arlington is the American Dream City, and your efforts to protect public health and the environment help preserve that dream.”
Industries which use a significant amount of water or which use processes that have the capability to discharge abnormal wastewater to the sanitary sewer system are strictly regulated by the Water Resource Services division of the Water Department to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations. These permitted industries must ensure compliance with those regulations by allowing annual inspections, testing their wastewater discharges, and submitting semi-annual reports.
“Our goal is 100 percent compliance,” explained Marc Paustian, Utilities Environmental Analyst in charge of the Industrial Pretreatment Program, “Many of our industries have worked very hard to remain in compliance for consecutive years.”
Industries that met all of the pretreatment compliance requirements were recognized at the Pretreatment Environmental Awards with a plaque.
