Coast Southwest, a division of Coast Chemical, Inc. (Placentia, CA), announces that it has received its Certificate of Completion from the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD), signifying its successful achievement of third-party document verification of the Responsible Distribution ProcessSM (RDP). RDP is an initiative imposed by the members of NACD demonstrating that all member companies are committed to product stewardship and responsible distribution in every phase of chemical storage, handling, transportation, and disposal. According to the NACD, a condition of membership in the Association is a signed commitment to the NACD Responsible Distribution ProcessSM, which requires members to continuously improve performance in protecting health, safety, security, and the environment.
The Certificate of Completion for the Responsible Distribution Process is an important step for Coast Chemical in joining the growing group of chemical manufacturers and distributors who are committed to the responsible management of chemicals,” says Joseph C. Cimo, President of Coast Southwest. “It adds an important credential to our company, in assuring both our customers and the public that we are aware of the inherent hazards of chemical distribution and consequently take the tenets of RDP very seriously.”
“This is an important milestone for Coast Southwest. They have every right to be proud of their accomplishment,” said NACD President Jim Kolstad. “They will now join all other NACD member companies scheduled for on-site 3rd-party RDP verification within the next three years. We welcome them into the NACD family.”
The National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD), established in 1971, is an international association of chemical distributor companies that purchase and take title to chemical products from manufacturers. Member companies process, formulate, blend, re-package, warehouse, transport, and market these chemical products exclusively for an industrial customer base of approximately 750,000.
