After this year’s midterm elections, leaders in Chemical Distribution and related industries hope for a renewed spirit of collaboration and progress from the new Congress, as summed up in this statement from Chris Jahn, head of the National Association of Chemical Distributors:
“We look forward to working with the new Congress. With the new balance of power between Congress and the White House, the road is now paved for more reasonable regulation and policies that will help businesses to grow and create jobs.”
We’re neither endorsing or criticizing the efforts of the last Congress in regard to our industry; we simply hope there will continue to be openness and cooperation between legislators, regulators and the industry.
We’re proud to say that the established, proven safety record of our industry is exemplary in recent years, and merits strong consideration from government parties as they assess future regulation.
The efforts of professionals and their companies to innovate, self-police and improve the lot of customers, consumers and communities we serve are epitomized regularly by initiatives like Responsible Distribution and the Skin Cancer Foundation, among a host of others. We hope members of Congress, and the general public, bear these in mind as we all move forward together toward building a strong economic recovery and jobs for years to come.
