Company History

Coast Southwest, Inc., a full-service, regional, specialty chemical, surfactant, and silicone distributor, was incorporated in 1985 in Placentia, CA as Coast Chemical, Inc. In 2003, Coast Chemical acquired the Southwest Silicone Division of PATH Silicones, in Dallas, TX and in 2005 expanded operations to begin manufacturing silicone emulsions.

In 2006, Coast opened its Salt Lake City, UT regional office and distribution center to serve Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Colorado. The Phoenix, AZ regional office, serving Arizona and New Mexico, began operations in 2007.

In 2008, the corporation consolidated all brands and lines of business and began operating under the name of Coast Southwest, Inc.

Coast Southwest was recognized in 2008 and again in 2009 by Purchasing Magazine as a Top 100 Distributor. The company has achieved both document and third-party site verification of compliance with the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) Responsible Distribution Process (RDP).
