Coast Southwest, Inc., a full-service, specialty chemical, surfactant, and silicone distributor, was incorporated in 1985 in Placentia, CA as Coast Chemical, Inc. In 2003, Coast Chemical acquired the Southwest Silicone Division of PATH Silicones, in Dallas, TX and in 2005 expanded operations to begin manufacturing silicone emulsions.
In 2006, Coast opened its Salt Lake City, UT regional office and distribution center to serve Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Colorado. The Phoenix, AZ regional office, serving Arizona and New Mexico, began operations in 2007.
In 2008, the corporation consolidated all brands and lines of business and began operating under the name of Coast Southwest, Inc.
In June 2010, Coast Southwest re-established the company’s presence in Northern California.
In 2013, Coast Southwest opened a distribution center in Arlington, TX to accommodate the rapid growth of southwest operations. The new location houses local customer service, the regional sales office, a warehouse, liquid bulk storage, packaging and blending. The site is home to a corporate innovation center for the research and development of unique personal care ingredient concepts and applications.
In 2014, Coast Southwest acquired an additional 33,000 square foot facility in Plancentia, CA to accommodate expanded customer demand.
In 2015, Coast Southwest opened its New Jersey regional office.
Coast Southwest was recognized as a Top 100 Chemical Distributors in North America for 15 consecutive years by ICIS Chemical Business Magazine. The company has achieved both Document and Third Party Verification of compliance with the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) Responsible Distribution Process (RDP). Coast Southwest was recognized with the NACD Responsible Distribution Excellence Award in 2022.
